Who we are
Simple 3p was born after I was laid off by my company in March of 2025. I worked for a top 3 third party delivery company located here in Chicago, a hub of grub if you will. I started as an onboarding rep, configuring restaurant accounts and training the restaurant owners how to use our product. I worked my way up to the Whiteglove team where we specialized in optimizing accounts that were recently onboarded that maybe needed another look to make sure we trained the owners and the account was set up correctly. I was then promoted to be an Account Manager where I had a book of business of about 700 small business restaurants in Northern NJ and Queens. I specialized in driving revenue and optimizing the marketability of the restaurant. I always felt that small businesses suffered the most when using these companies because the industry has changed to where you are forced to use these apps to stay competitive, but a lot of the time this wasn’t in the best interest of the customer or restaurant due to the high percentage they take off of the subtotal. My methodology was always “we market your restaurant, and the hope is that they love it and they go in person and order from you directly more times then they use the 3rd party app”. The cool thing about having me would be that I could set up your account correctly and teach you best practices, once you learn all of that you can send me packing and I’ve hopefully directly increased your revenue so that this becomes a great investment rather than yet another expense sapping your bottom line. I have virtually no overhead, no quota, no managers, no products to push. I’m just a guy who loves the restaurant industry and I simply want you to thrive so I can keep going out and enjoying food!
Third party delivery apps can be a great thing, but you need to make it work for you. Many many many times in my work the person who signed up is very busy and simply doesn’t have the bandwidth to go through the entire setup thoroughly so they pass it to an employee or relative who just sets up the tablet and the rest of the staff has virtually no training on how to use the platform. This whole dance makes the ramp up of sales extremely slow, can cause cancelled orders, angry customers, and ultimately a paused account and now you have someone like I used to be calling your restaurant trying to get you to fix your account. I’ve seen this especially with restaurants that use English as a second language due to language barriers between them and the company. The algorithm for these apps works like this (it actually works like this for every single algorithm in marketing. Google searches etc). Restaurant A, we’ll call them “Whackarnolds”, has 13k locations in the US and has an insane marketing budget and has the internal processes where they can pump out like 75 burgers per second across the country. If my app wants to make the most money we are going to back the pony that has the best chances to make someone click “Place Order” while browsing my app, there are precious seconds between when the customer goes “ooooo tacos sound amazing right now” and “you know what, I’ll just make something at home”. Thus making it very hard for small businesses to compete. But what do you have? You have your community, local buzz, a unique product, a friendly face.
